Peter Brook stablished in his book “The Empty Space” the importance of neutral and flexible performance spaces. And that is what improv is. However, as improvisers, we tend to neglect our inner space. In this workshop we are going to tackle both in order to achieve compelling improvised theatrical scenes. We are going beyond the peer to peer interactions and focus on what’s not only within ourselves, but also the circumstances around us. Let’s widen the range of improv scenes working in the realm of real emotions, without the pressure of the chase for laughs, wit or fast pace; to build relatable stories on stage, to build immediate theatre.
About Ferran Luengo
Ferran Luengo is a Spanish actor, improviser and applied theatre facilitator based in London. He landed into improv from theatre and trained with Spanish and international teachers, including The Annoyance theatre in Chicago. He improvises with the musical improv troupe Acaprov, Not GCSE Drama and the Hoopla Impro house team Shuffle.
He is also passionate about playback theatre, having completed the leadership training by the Center of Playback Theatre in the USA. He’s brought workshops around the world and, in London, performs and facilitates with London Playback and True Heart Theatre.
As an applied theatre facilitator and performer, he is committed to theatre in education, facilitating drama workshops and performing in dozens of schools and colleges across London.

Workshop
Peter Brook estableció en su libro "El Espacio Vacío" la importancia de espacios de actuación neutrales y flexibles. Y eso es precisamente lo que es la improvisación. Sin embargo, como improvisadores, tendemos a descuidar nuestro espacio interior. En este taller abordaremos ambos aspectos con el fin de lograr escenas teatrales improvisadas cautivadoras. Nos adentraremos más allá de las interacciones de persona a persona y nos enfocaremos en lo que está no solo dentro de nosotros, sino también en las circunstancias que nos rodean. Ampliemos el espectro de las escenas de improvisación trabajando en el ámbito de las emociones reales, sin la presión de la búsqueda de risas, ingenio o ritmo acelerado; para construir historias identificables en el escenario, para construir teatro inmediato.
About Ferran Luengo
Ferran Luengo es un actor español, improvisador y facilitador de teatro aplicado afincado en Londres. Se introdujo en la improvisación desde el teatro y se formó con profesores españoles e internacionales, incluido The Annoyance Theatre en Chicago. Improvisa con el grupo de improvisación musical Acaprov, Not GCSE Drama y el equipo residente de Hoopla Impro, Shuffle.
También siente una gran pasión por el teatro playback, habiendo completado la formación de liderazgo en The Center of Playback Theatre en Estados Unidos. Ha llevado talleres por todo el mundo y, en Londres, actúa y facilita con London Playback y True Heart Theatre.
Como facilitador y actor de teatro aplicado, se dedica al teatro en la educación, facilitando talleres de drama y actuando en docenas de escuelas y universidades en todo Londres.
