Learn how the skills of short form can enhance your long form. From everything to trusting faster, laying in context effortlessly, committing to characters quicker, discovering group games, and more, short form improv can up your game and add variety to your long form skills. In this workshop we'll play short form exercises and games, and apply the practices and principles to how you approach any and all long form.
All levels are welcome.
About
Mary Carpenter has worked as an actor, improviser, teacher, director and writer in Philadelphia for over 25 years. A graduate of Northwestern University and LAMDA, Mary has been with CSZ Philadelphia since 1992, where she has worked as a performer, teacher, Education Director and Artistic Director. Mary’s improvisation experience also includes City of Nutterly Love with The Second City, Dangerous Fools ‘Til Death Do Us Part, Wisdom Teeth, Choopy & Me, 3M, I’ll Have What She’s Having, and her new solo show What If, as well as publishing her book: Do Or Do Not: How To Improvise Like A Jedi. Most recently, she created and co-directed Blank: An Improvised Star Wars Story.
