A Little Improv.
A Lot of Adventure.
Improv Utopia's international retreats bring together improvisers from around the world for an unforgettable mix of creative learning, travel and community.
Smaller and more intimate than our U.S. camps, these retreats combine inspiring improv workshops with plenty of time to explore local culture, connect with fellow performers and build friendships that cross borders. It's an opportunity to grow as an improviser while discovering somewhere new!
Where will we go next? We don't have any international retreats currently scheduled, but we're excited for future adventures! Explore our past destinations below and join our newsletter to be the first to hear about what's next.
WHERE WE’VE BEEN
Spain
2023 & 2024
Improv on the Mediterranean Coast.
Sunshine, sea breezes, and a whole lot of improv!
Our Spain improv retreats took place at La Zenia Hostel on the beautiful Alicante coast of the Mediterranean Sea. We booked the entire hostel exclusively for our group, creating an intimate, welcoming environment where improvisers could learn, play and connect.
Campers enjoyed immersive improv workshops with experienced instructors, shared meals, and plenty of free time to relax on the beach, explore nearby towns and experience the local culture.
With smaller groups and a relaxed schedule, our Spain retreats offered a unique opportunity to combine improv training with a Mediterranean getaway.
Ireland
2018 & 2019
Where Our International Adventures Began.
Our first international improv retreats brought the IU community to the beautiful Irish countryside near Newgrange in County Meath, just north of Dublin.
In 2018 and 2019, improvisers gathered in Ireland to share their love of improvisation, learn together and connect with fellow performers in a new setting.
These early international retreats helped establish something we still love about taking IU abroad: the chance to build an improv community that reaches far beyond our usual camp locations.
MEMORIES FROM ABROAD
“Had an amazing time. Really enjoyed the mix of nationalities. Would love to come back again.”
“BEST CAMP EVER! Please keep up the good work and keep the international camps coming! <3”
THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES
